Hi, I’m Andy, and I’m the person behind Constructive Minds.
For me, Constructive Minds isn't just a business.
It's the beginning of a new chapter.
A chance to give something back.
A chance to support people who might be going through their own challenges.
A chance to bring people together in my local community.
And, hopefully, a chance to make a small positive difference to the lives of the people I meet along the way.
We're building more than models.
We're building confidence.
We're building connections.
We're building stronger teams.
And we're building better minds.
That's the reason Constructive Minds exists.
Veteran owned and Operated
I’m a British Army veteran, and after leaving the Army I spent more than 30 years working in telecommunications, eventually reaching a senior leadership position within a global telecoms company. I built a career around leading people, solving problems, managing pressure and delivering results.
It all started with a few bricks ......
From the outside, I had a successful career.
But behind the scenes, life and work could sometimes be incredibly demanding.
During COVID, I found myself working in an extremely stressful environment. Like many people, I needed something that would help me switch off from the constant pressure and give me some space to breathe.
That’s when I rediscovered LEGO.
What started as something simple to help me relax became much more than that. Sitting down and building something gave me an opportunity to slow down, focus on something positive and, for a little while, forget about everything else going on around me.
Charities
There was something about having a pile of bricks in front of me and turning them into something that made sense.
It helped me.
And it made me wonder whether it could help other people too.
I began introducing LEGO activities to veterans' charities and saw first-hand how powerful something so simple could be. It created conversations. It brought people together.
It encouraged creativity.
Most importantly, it gave people a reason to smile and a chance to switch off from whatever challenges they were facing.
That experience stayed with me.
Eventually, I reached a point where I knew I wanted something different from the next chapter of my life.
Next Chapter
So, in 2026, I made the difficult decision to leave my senior role in the global telecommunications industry and step away from the career I had spent decades building.
It was a big decision.
But sometimes you have to be brave enough to admit that you want something more meaningful.
I wanted to take everything I had learned about leadership, teamwork, resilience and supporting people and use it in a different way.
And that's where Constructive Minds came from.
Contructive Minds was Born
Today, my ambition is to create experiences that help people feel connected, valued and capable — whether that's a child discovering something they didn't know they could do, a group of young people learning to work together, a veteran finding a reason to engage, or a team of colleagues discovering a completely different way of communicating.
I don't believe LEGO is going to solve every problem.
But I do believe that sometimes, sitting around a table, putting your phones down, building something together and having a laugh can be surprisingly powerful.
For me, Constructive Minds isn't just a business.
